The Glovers' Annual Awards Lunch this year was hot in many ways! The weather might have been a steamy 30C but luckily the Plaisterers Livery Hall helped us keep our cool.
The other hot items on the menu were the brilliant designs by this year’s Student Glove Design Competition winners and our guest speaker Georgina Goodman, doyenne of the footwear industry and Course Leader for the MA Footwear program at London College of Fashion.
Amidst a full house of Glovers and guests, five students were awarded their prizes by Georgina and Master Glover Mike Dodd. The event being MCd by the ever articulate Past Master John Spanner.
The First Prize of £1000 was awarded to Eloise Oddy of the Manchester Metropolitan University
The Second prize of £500 was awarded to Shalini Perera of the University of Derby
The Third Prize of £250 was awarded to Chi-Yuan Hung of the London College of Fashion
The winner of the Dents Prize was Mariia Opaliuk from the London College of Fashion
This year an additional prize - The Glove Steward’s Prize of £500 for the best made glove was awarded to Stellla Lee of the London College of Fashion.
And the Glovers’ Silver Salver was awarded to: The University of Northampton - this is awarded for the College producing the best series of designs.
