Each year applications are received for the award of The Golden Glove for Innovation. Should applicants not meet the requirement then an award is not made in that year.
This year such a glove has met the standard required. Designed by Rachel Freire the Mi-Mu glove is a wireless, wearable, gestural musical instrument and controller. A fusion of textiles, electronic sensors and dedicated software, they offer a new and flexible approach to the control of music and visuals through intuitive human movement. The gloves are designed with aesthetics, longevity and sustainability in mind. The technical textiles are all sourced from responsible companies, 50% are recycled and the textile is manufactured in Leicester, UK.
Rachel is coming to the Winter lunch at Stationers’ Hall on 5th February 2020 to receive the award.
