The Glovers' Company is delighted to announce that the Annual Student Glove Design Competition is now launched for 2027, with the theme of Cabinet of Curiosities!

Before public museums existed, wealthy collectors displayed unusual and beautiful objects from around the world in what became known as Cabinets of Curiosities. These collections could include anything from shells, fossils and insects, to scientific instruments, precious stones, works of art and exotic treasures. Every cabinet reflected the interests and personality of its owner.

Your challenge is to design a fashion glove inspired by a Cabinet of Curiosities. You might choose a single object that fascinates you, a group of related objects, or create a cabinet of your own. Your inspiration could come from nature, science, history, travel, art or mythology. The aim is to create a glove that celebrates curiosity, craftsmanship and your own unique interpretation of the theme.

This prestigious competition is to encourage practical and innovative glove design and seeks to work within each college’s fashion design curriculum.
